Funky Fraiche Friday [08.17.2012]

Walking down the streets of New York this morning, sweating through my recently cleaned suit, I was on my way to the first of several meetings for the day when I came across the perfect track for that agonizing walk to your day job…or for those of you that are so blessed to still be in school (hate you) but unlucky enough to have to wake up this early, class. Anyways, this discovery also happens to coincide with my favorite day of the week, Funky Fraiche Friday. By the way, I’m confident that myself and Ralphy aren’t the only ones who so enjoy this new weekly post, so please give us your feedback…and that goes for general stuff about the site as well. While we retain the right to disagree with you on pretty much anything, please don’t feel intimidated to write us on what you would like us to do better or differently, or if you feel so inclined, tell us how awesome we are…thats always nice too. Ok, that was a tangent. Sorry. Here are this weeks funky beats, starting off with a new mix from . Enjoy.

You know the indie/electronic group Miami Horror? Well, apparently, besides being absurdly talented record producers, the also enjoy spinning tracks and have quite the taste in music. This is a new mix they made. I think I’m in love.

Louis La Roche…pretty much the exact type of music that led us to creating this post. Summer music. Uploaded to soundcloud about half an hour ago. Fraiche.

Prok & Fitch might as well be the founders of this thing called “making you shake your ass,” because when you listen to their stuff, that is pretty much what happens. Don’t fight it. It’s natural. We encourage it.

Here is something from off in left field. Trap music. Work appropriate? Probably not. Funky? Absolutely.

For those of you who are new to dance music and don’t know RAC…first, I’m sorry, but second, André Allen Anjos is definitely among the founding fathers of fraiche. Always silky smooth, their music touches that love light inside us all and tickles our boogie bone.

“This mix ended up being a lot of different things. They are mainly influences of mine, but arranged in a way that would flow. After a night out, the last thing I want to hear is more noise. These are my favorite sparse, moody and beautiful songs. This is what I’d want to listen to on a drive home.”
