Anyways…Hot Since 82 gives us two very deep tracks, Dusky provides their remix of Cloud 9′s “Don’t You Want Me Baby,” which is a favorite of mine and is a set staple. Waze & Odyssey are featured with their single “Be Right There.” Great techy number. Of course, the head honcho, Mark Knight is in there with a newish remix. I could go on and on, but we’ll stop there. It’s all pretty much golden. So, just step up to the plate and buy the entire album. We did. If you’re not dancing by the end of the first track, there might be something wrong with you.

Determined to keep things fresh and exciting, at the end of this month Angello will be launching new label X, providing another outlet for some of the myriad styles of music that inspire him. The label will start off with a new two track EP from revered dance music veteran Trent Cantrelle entitled ‘Nice & Close’. Built around a hypnotic, rolling groove, the titular track journeys deep into the night with its collage of vocal samples and warped fx breaking down into rave-inflected chords and soaring vocals before emerging again with a renewed energy. On second track ‘Understand’ percussive layers shift around the central syncopated rhythm over a pulsing bassline to create further dance floor alchemy.
You could say I’m excited for more to come from Steve’s newest baby. This EP from Mr. Cantrelle is just what the doctor ordered. House music at its finest.
This is for the after-party, those late night dance parties in smoke filled apartments full of tender hearts, yearning souls, and sensitive ears. Check your inhibitions at the door. These are the small hours. Let’s dance until dawn. Thanks for the jams Moullinex. You killed it.
