ABGT 023 with Mat Zo Guest Mix

BIIGtB8CQAASXh4.jpg largeToday Above & Beyond announced the location of ABGT050 to be the above Alexandria Palace in London. I would do unspeakable things to be there. Here is the official statement from A&B’s website:

On Saturday 26 October, for one night only, the band will celebrate the radio show’s landmark 50th episode at an historic London venue. Following two sold-out Brixton Academy shows last year, #ABGT050 will be Above & Beyond’s biggest ever show in the capital and their only major London appearance of 2013.

“The first ever Trance Around The World show was broadcast from the Ministry Of Sound studios in London back in 2004 and ran until TATW450 in India, where we launched Group Therapy Radio 001. Choosing London means we get to celebrate the 50th episode of Group Therapy, as well as 500 radio shows to date, in the city where our radio journey first began.” – Above & Beyond.

Jono, Tony and Paavo will be joined in London by some of the scene’s most exciting talents for what will be the biggest Group Therapy event line up to date.

If you want to register for priority access to tickets follow this link and enter your email. I’ve signed up and if I am selected I will be highly considering buying plane tickets. To get us excited for the Andrew Bayer guest mix tomorrow on ABGT024 let’s enjoy last week’s episode with what many people are claiming to be the best guest mix of all time. 14 songs in 30 minutes from wiz-kid, Matan Zohar, better known as Mat Zo.

PREVIEW: Andrew Bayer – If It Were You, We’d Never Leave [Anjunabeats]

1362498968_coverSitting somewhere between Gold Panda, Flying Lotus and Johan Johannsson, Andrew Bayer‘s second album — “If It Were You, We’d Never Leave” — is a 16-track journey through woozy, dreamlike glitch and reflective electronica.

Without a 4/4 beat in sight, this much-anticipated second album showcases the unique abilities of the former Berklee College Of Music student in kaleidoscopic beauty and follows his acclaimed debut album, “It’s Artificial”, in style.

From the edgy glitch of “Doomsday” to the ethereal, emotive grooves of the Sufjan Steven-sampling “Lose Sight” (feat. Ane Brun) through to the epic, cinematic builds of “Gaff’s Eulogy” each track tells is own story and stirs with emotion; Bayer blends the organic with the electronic in a way few producers master. A contemplative and absorbing electronica LP, the full journey demands and rewards repeat listens.

Been waiting for this ever since I heard ‘Let’s Hear That B Section Again’ on Mat Zo‘s essential mix for BBC Radio 1. Bayer is a legend in the making. Perfection from start to finish.

Release date April 22nd

RELEASE: Andrew Bayer feat. Ane Brun – Lose Sight (Original + Ghosting Season Mixes) [Anjunadeep]

artworks-000043994436-gah4yk-originalAs if Power Drive wasn’t enough to make your April Fool’s Day awesome, Anjunadeep decided to join in on the fun. Been looking forward to this release ever since it was played on #ABGT. Lots of haters out there saying it was “too chill” for Group Therapy Radio, idiots. I bought this immediately, one of the more blissful songs I’ve ever heard. Thanks Anjuna fam, you guys rule. (on a related note, keep your ear to the ground for Andrew’s forthcoming album If It Were You, We’d Never Leave set to be release later this month. I promise you, it will be magical)

Anjunadeep The Yearbook 2012

To say these tracks are essential would be a pretttty big understatement. Not party music by any means, but play these while you’re in the library or sitting by the fire drinking hot cocao and I’ll guarantee you’ll be content. Anjuna does it so right – especially when they get all nice and deep-like. Missing a few of my favorites, but you can’t always get ‘em all.

PODCAST: Pierce Fulton – “Get Weird” Episode 04 [Free Download]

This may be redundant, but I love Pierce’s taste in music. This new episode of his podcast “Get Weird,” is absolutely phenomenal. It’s got funky stuff, weird stuff, uplifting stuff, and it’s all fantastic. Literally, I found myself both smiling like an idiot and saying “fuck yeah”  multiple times at the gym today…I got weird looks, but whatever. I had a great time.

Tracklist:

01. Jaytech – Diode (Original Mix)
02. D. Ramirez – Lump & Pop (Original Club Mix)
03. Bass Kleph & Travis Eammons – Electrical Funk (Original Mix)
04. Wolfgang Gartner – Girl On Girl (Original Mix)
05. Databoy – Just Once (Audien Remix)

I suggest downloading every single one of these tracks. Literally, my favorite mix Pierce has made…ever. Props bro. You crushed it.

You Lift Me Up

Some smooth electronic/trance type vibes for ya’ll… I was told by an avid AYNE follower this past Saturday while spinning on a rooftop in NYC that he NEEDED more trance. And I could not agree more. The sounds coming out of Anjunabeats right now are simply breathtaking, and they’re not the only ones picking up the slack. Yeah, electro is cool to party to sometimes, however, if someone can do trance/electronic right (Prydz, cough) not only do you party like it’s 1999, but also your soul is lifted to a level you once never knew existed. These next few tunes are on the chiller side, yet their fraicheness is certified by yours truly.

Promises (Soundprank Remix) ~ Andain

Midas ~ Soundprank

Cosmos (Original Mix) ~ PROFF & Answer42

By All Means (Original Mix) ~ Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer

No post is complete with out at least one half-naked bomb shell…

New Dawn (Original Mix) ~ Oliver Smith

The Lemon Effect (PROFF Remix) ~ Answer42

She Moves (Ashley Wallbridge Vocal Mix) ~ Andy Moor feat. Carrie Skipper

Make that two bomb shells…. take me wherever this is pronto, and make sure that these songs are playing just loud enough in the background, so the vibes can subconsciously uplift my spirit.

Kopanang ~ Ashley Wallbridge Feat. Kobalt Infusion

Skyscraper (Original Mix) ~ Dinka

Yeke Yeke 2011 (Bluestone Remix) ~ Mory Kante Vs. Loverush Uk!

EVENT: Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Tour North America [Part 2]

Above & Beyond put on quite a show in Miami, along side supporting acts Andrew Bayer, Mat Zo, and Arty. Overall the event was a great way to start off my week in Miami this year. They are far from done this year, as they have 24 dates to play this summer! That includes appearances at EDC Las Vegas and 2 slots at Electric Zoo in New York City (main stage and group therapy tent). Check out the official after movie from their event in Miami this spring and make sure to grab tickets for at least one of the shows listed below.
