Funky Fraiche Friday [08.24.2012]

Ahhh Friday, my favorite day of the week. I’m currently in a Starbucks in Manhattan with the shitiest wifi connection ever, but hey, at least its free…which is more than I can say for pretty much everything else in this city. Doing your laundry costs more than a handy dandy at a massage joint. It’s getting old real fast. But that’s neither here nor there. Let’s get into the funk, shall we?

First off, we have a new mix from Zimmer. He describes it on his Soundcloud: “First part is very pop and full of bright colors, then things get a bit deeper.” Sounds great to me. Full tracklist will be available on Sunday. Hey, the man has priorities.

Next we have a free track from Club Feet and Softwar. Get familair with both of these guys if you dig the mellow, deeper vibes. I think of sunsets, cocktails, and cool summer breezes when I listen to this track. If you’re not in a good mood today, you need this.

Here we have Lenno’s latest summer mix. If you couldn’t tell from past postings, we have quite the hard-on for this Finish talent. And honestly, you’d be crazy not to. Track selection on this one is elite.

Tracklist:

Breakbot – One Out Of Two (Oliver Remix)
Bit Funk – It’s My Love
Gigamesh – Your Body
Eumig & Chinon – This Fang
Sohight – Get It Right (Patchwork Remix)
Koobra – Only You feat. Joanna
Aston Shuffle – Won’t Get Lost (’96 Bulls Remix)
Strip Steve – Hood
Justice – New Lands (Falcon Remix)
Anna Lunoe & Touch Sensitive – Real Talk
Gracias – 40k Volts (Lenno Remix)
Foster The People – Don’t Stop (Oliver Remix)
Roman D’Amour – Make Love Tonight (Lifelike/Lenno Re-edit)
Pryda vs The Temper Trap – Mighty Love vs Sweet Disposition (Lenno Mashup)
Russ Chimes – Back 2 You
Timo Juuti & Hector 87 – Cheap Bad Moves

Here are previews of 2 upcoming releases from Bastian Van Shield. The dudes baselines are epic. And both tracks are essential, so pay attention.

And finally, this weeks post couldn’t be complete without the new Booka Shade EP that just came out on Steve Aoki’s label, Dim Mak. It’s safe to say these bros are talented. Below are the original versions. Visit the Dim Mak Soundcloud page or Beatport for the club mixes.

When in doubt, make it funky.
