I love you Crazibiza. You’re too damn good. The whole “Ibiza Departures Vol. 2” EP, which features such greats as Olav Basoski, Manuel De La Mare, Muzzaik, and Kevin Prise was released on PornoStar Records in late September and is available for download on Beatport (you can download the tracks individually). Here are a few of my favorite tracks off the EP. Preview them first, and trust me, you’ll know what needs to be done.
Let’s start out with a few original from Crazibiza themselves.
This one is a sensational remix from Manuel De La Mare. If you like disco and house, this one is essential.
Now, go ahead and let Martin Villeneuve and Zoltan Kontes take you a bit higher.
This weeks edition of “Funky Fraiche Friday” comes to you live and direct from my couch, hungover as shit, on Saturday morning. Yes, I ate pizza last night, and yes, I ended up face down on my couch instead of my unbelievably comfortable king-sized bed. So basically, feeling somewhat defeated today after an unsuccessful trip to Brooklyn and a failed foursome…yea, you heard me. But hey, it’s sunny out, and i’ll be frolicking in Central Park with a bunch of other likeminded house music lovers in about 8 hours while we have a little partay with the crew from Size Records. Yea, I see you Steve. Get it. So, before you get back on that horse today, check out our menu of funky beats.
Can you feel it coming? Late Nite Tuff Guy can. And it feels like money.
Here is some a dat new RAC shit. One free download, one new mix. Both very essential.

Crazibiza is one of my all-time favorite duos in house music. Always funky, always fraiche, and always dependable for sexy, delicious house music. Example a…live from Amnesia, Ibiza this July 4th.
Yes, you are reading this correctly. It’s currently past 7:00 pm on Saturday and we are posting this weeks edition of Funky Fraiche Friday. Listen, some people actually have shit to do…for example, getting drunk and purchasing an 80in TV. Priorities. That said, this week we bring you one of the best essential mixes I have ever heard on BBC Radio 1. It comes from German DJ/Producer and Diynamic label owner, Solomun. He wakes up in the morning and shits fraicheness. If you can’t feel this mix in or around your private parts, just don’t talk to me. Get ready for 2 hours of some of the best house, funk, soul and hip-hop beats you will ever hear. Like the man himself puts it, “It’s not the sound, it’s about the selection of the tracks…but maybe there is one main thing that is for me very important, it is the groove, the baseline always need a warm nice groove…I love it if its colorful, because music is never one direction.” We couldn’t agree more.
Exclusive BBC1 Radio Mix from July 28th, 2012
Next on the menu is a new original track from The Knocks. They seem to be becoming a regular appearance on this post. Probably cause they funk shit up.
And here we have a simply fantastic Nu Disco style track from Touch Sensitive, out of Syndey, and Anna Lunoe called “Real Talk.” It has obvious deep house, funk and soul influences. Great baseline and secondary melodies that seem to mesh together almost as well as your memories from last night. It is currently #2 on the Beatport charts for Indie Dance/Nu Disco and is one of those songs that when it drops, you instantly feel sexy. Great vibes all around. Picture poolside terrace, sunset, beautiful people, and very little clothing. It’s comfortable.
The last little nugget I bring you is from the always funky, Tocadisco. It’s easily my favorite House rhythm of the summer. He remixes Milk & Sugar’s “Let The Sun Shine 2012” and the result is nothing short of pure genius. Make love to the muthafuckin’ night kids.
I wish I was in Ibiza right now…and I’m sure I’m not alone in that. With the plethora of premier dance clubs featuring resident DJs such as Avicii (Ushuaia), Tiesto (Pacha), Swedish House Mafia (Ushuaia), and the legend, Eric Prydz (Amnesia), it is virtually impossible to take a night off. That said, there are tons of other well-known and up-and-coming DJs that are making big noise over on that little Spanish isle. One such Swede goes by the name of Filip Jenven. You may have listened to his guest mix on our first podcast (free download here). If you want to find out how this guy rolls in less than two minutes, check out the video below. It is him dropping his latest bootleg at Amnesia. Watch the reaction, and that should give you a nice preview of the Jenven effect.
And in case you were wondering where to find that mashup…Filip sent it to me about an hour ago. Come on, you didn’t think I was gonna leave you hanging…did you?
Tiesto is a beat. Plain and simple. He has an unrivaled passion for music and spreading it to the world. Here is just one more weekend in the life of Tiesto. How many shows can he fit in? No room for sleep. Too much house! Get ready to get Maximal Crazy with Tiesto!
