SPOTLIGHT: Stwo

216660_598738240139180_1820271907_nStwo is a 20 year old producer/DJ from Paris, France who simply loves music. Growing up listening to many differing types of music – Justice, Erol Alkan, Cassius, Snoop, Dre, Pharrell, Timberlake, and “a lot of funk” - his production style borrows elements from all genres. Although he grew up playing bass, more recently, Steven has been turned on to the electronic music (and more particularly the bass music) scene, and has been spending countless hours at his laptop making the music he likes. It really is hard to put a label on his beats, as each one is so very different from the next, but as a common theme, they are mostly chilled-out, sample-based tracks similar to the likes of Giraffage, Cashmere Cat and xxyyxx. In it for the love of the game, he truly enjoys creating and sharing his choons. Take a load of with Stwo in this week’s spotlight and watch as your hump day worries fade blissfully away.

You (ft. Sanna Hartfield) could be my favorite of all his current tracks on soundcloud, awesome vocals and even better bass playing in the background – we see you Steven. Bliss.

K N O W has some pretty cool Brandy samples tweaked with that signature Stwo sound… very fraiche indeed.

Finally his American Boy Remix is fonkayy, of course ever keeping close to his unique chilled-out style. This one sounds a little like Disclosure, which is nice. Love what he did with the vocals, gives the track a lot of character.

If you like what you hear, and are just as excited as we are to hear more from this young man in the near future, then hit up his social media sites and throw him a follow: Soundcloud // Facebook

Keep crushing it Steven!

EVENT: Holy Ship 2013 [Lineup Announced]

This lineup is simply elite. If you like good music, fun DJs, and partying on boats, you might want to try and sneak on….just sadly found out that it’s 100% booked. It will be a 3 night cruise complete with some of the best DJs in the world, private islands, and beautiful party people. What more could you ask for in a long weekend? Peep the lineup and promo video from last year below.

Tracks in the video: DESTRUCTO “LA FUNKY” (BNR TRAX), KILL FRENZY “BOOTY CLAP” (DIRTYBIRD), and OLIVER “DIRTY TALK” (KITSUNE)

I want to punch myself in the dick for not booking this in August.

Let’s just pause right here…take a moment to digest…if you really need to know more, venture on sailor.

Ok, now this is just silly. This may be too much. Jack Beats…pure filth behind the decks. Skream & Benga throw an insane show. Zedd…duh. Crookers…mommy! In any case, if you aren’t blown away yet…

Oh what’s up D. Francis, Tommy da Trash…not to mention the absurd amount of talent packed into one picture. I mean good lord! Breakbot…brilliant. Gesaffelstein might be a genius…straight up. And the list goes on.

Now we get a bit deeper. Oliver is pure gold. Love the disco flavor. Eats Everything always seems to be making noise on Pete Tong’s radio show, and I trust him, so there.

Laidback Luke’s better half crushes it behind the decks and The Knocks are always on point. Research the rest of these artists, but I am certain you will find them aurally pleasing.

Funky Fraiche Friday [08.24.2012]

Ahhh Friday, my favorite day of the week. I’m currently in a Starbucks in Manhattan with the shitiest wifi connection ever, but hey, at least its free…which is more than I can say for pretty much everything else in this city. Doing your laundry costs more than a handy dandy at a massage joint. It’s getting old real fast. But that’s neither here nor there. Let’s get into the funk, shall we?

First off, we have a new mix from Zimmer. He describes it on his Soundcloud: “First part is very pop and full of bright colors, then things get a bit deeper.” Sounds great to me. Full tracklist will be available on Sunday. Hey, the man has priorities.

Next we have a free track from Club Feet and Softwar. Get familair with both of these guys if you dig the mellow, deeper vibes. I think of sunsets, cocktails, and cool summer breezes when I listen to this track. If you’re not in a good mood today, you need this.

Here we have Lenno’s latest summer mix. If you couldn’t tell from past postings, we have quite the hard-on for this Finish talent. And honestly, you’d be crazy not to. Track selection on this one is elite.

Here are previews of 2 upcoming releases from Bastian Van Shield. The dudes baselines are epic. And both tracks are essential, so pay attention.

And finally, this weeks post couldn’t be complete without the new Booka Shade EP that just came out on Steve Aoki’s label, Dim Mak. It’s safe to say these bros are talented. Below are the original versions. Visit the Dim Mak Soundcloud page or Beatport for the club mixes.

When in doubt, make it funky.

I Wish I Was In Ibiza

I wish I was in Ibiza right now…and I’m sure I’m not alone in that. With the plethora of premier dance clubs featuring resident DJs such as Avicii (Ushuaia), Tiesto (Pacha), Swedish House Mafia (Ushuaia), and the legend, Eric Prydz (Amnesia), it is virtually impossible to take a night off. That said, there are tons of other well-known and up-and-coming DJs that are making big noise over on that little Spanish isle. One such Swede goes by the name of Filip Jenven. You may have listened to his guest mix on our first podcast (free download here). If you want to find out how this guy rolls in less than two minutes, check out the video below. It is him dropping his latest bootleg at Amnesia. Watch the reaction, and that should give you a nice preview of the Jenven effect.

And in case you were wondering where to find that mashup…Filip sent it to me about an hour ago. Come on, you didn’t think I was gonna leave you hanging…did you?

Da Fresh vs. Justice – Limoncello Are Your Friends (Filip Jenven Amnesia Mashup)

Exclusive and straight from the source…it’s how we do it at AYNE.

Long Weekend = Short Week

Cameron is keeping it tight these days. So is newcomer Jordan Daaz. Expect big big things from this bro.

Jordan Daaz – OMG (Original Mix)

Two is always better than one…oh, ya…and they are olympic athletes. Synchronized swimmers…what do ya know?

Duck Sauce vs. Bastian Van Shield & Tujamo – Big Bad Wold (Relanium Bootleg)

Sultan & Ned Shepard feat. Quilla vs. Alesso – Walls Of Valentina (Project 46 Insert Syrup Edit)

She dances on her own.

Justice & Boys Noize – Phantom Pt. 2 (Disfunktion Edit)

Shout out to Mr. Lamotte over at the GoofShack for this sexy little midnight number.

Matty Maneck & Social Phunk – Are You Ready For Love (Original Club Mix)

Sweet dreams children.
