This is a very special edition of the Anjunabeats radio show. It’s episode 300, quite the milestone for the young label. And to celebrate, they give us 4 hours of beautiful trance and progressive house (real progressive house…not commercial shit). This is a shining example of what made Ralphy and I both fall in love with this label and its extremely robust arsenal of young, talented producers like these 4 bros. Each plays a one hour mix in this episode, so sit back and enjoy the ride.
Ralphy previewed this collaboration a couple weeks ago, and it’s now released in full HQ format via Armind (Armada) Records and available on Beatport. If you didn’t know prior to this, Arty is next level. His production skills are way beyond his years. Teaming up with a legend in BT and the gorgeous vocal prowess of Nadia Ali, he has produced an elegant trance track that will appeal to the masses and help educate them on the future of the genre.
This is easily the most massive remix package I have ever seen. Features remixes from some of the best in the world. I have also included a few unofficial ones. There is something for everyone here. Listed in order of my preference. Enjoy!
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Deniz Koyu Remix) - Beatport Link - $$$$$ – The most played remix at Tomorrowland and for good reason. Koyu got skills. Stadium stuff.
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (A-Trak & Clockwork Remix) – Beatport Link - $$$$$ Prime vocal sampling, superb buildup, dope drops, and overall great bouncy festival feel.
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Armin Van Buuren Remix) - Beatport Link - $$$$ – The king of trance throws his hat into the mix and shows that he is still very much relevant. Great melodies and synth buildup followed by an epic trance drop. Loooooove.
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Gregori Klosman & Tristan Garner Knights Remix) - Beatport Link - $$$ – Darker side of progressive house. The boys from France get naughty with this one. Their individual styles compliment each other perfectly.
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Congorock Remix) - Beatport Link - $$$ Unique melodic buildup into and really sick drop. This one will take you to a play called “Full Retard.” Heard it’s pretty fun.
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Monsta Remix) - Beatport Link - $$ Not my style, but if you like ze wompage, here is the only dubstep remix on the official EP. Real heavy dub. Sounds like a video game at some points.
Unofficial Remixes / Bootlegs:
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (KDrew Remix) – $$$$$ By far the best dubstep remix available right now. KDrew has been sending us stuff for awhile. Might just have to do a spotlight on him. Kid has some serious skills in the studio.
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Jakob Liedholm Bootleg) – $$$$$ That swedish sound baby. Love this 15yr old prodigy. Everything he puts out seems to be magic. Can’t help but think this is what the SHM or Alesso remix would sound like. Very anthemic.
Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (3LAU Remix) - $$$$ Quite good. Gorgeous melodic buildups and powerful synths. Great feel good track. 3LAU ain’t just a mashup guy anymore. Props bro. Keep it up!
Ok. Now it’s time for ID Festival. Probably the best possible way I could spend my last day in Atlanta. Ready for that Pryda education? I sure am.
W&W are among my favorite trance artists. This track is one that crossed the boundaries of progressive house and trance. It is ridiculously large in scope, is equipt with a gorgeous lead melody that takes numerous forms over the course of the track’s journal into your ears and out your heart. Big big fan of this one. Oh, and russian girls.
Trance is alive.
All of these are must haves for all the serious trance fans out there. They are in order from soft to hard…in case that interests you.
Another phenomenal production from Arty. This time he teams up with a legend, Paul Van Dyk, and together they produce an absurdly complex and euphoric track. Arty is continuing to separate himself from the masses of up-and-coming artist. He has talent far beyond his years and is on his way to becoming one of the most revered producers in house music. Oh, and if you haven’t seen him live…its magical. Probably better than sex actually…but for real, depending on the encounter, an Arty show is probably better. Along with guys like Mat Zo, Andrew Bayer, Arty is leading the way in a new state of trance.
